Lawrence Grimm
A lot of dramatic art is ephemeral.
Ain't easy to capture lightning in a bottle, but I have assembled a wee archive of some notable
engagements for sharing right here.

Turret
Written and Directed by Levi Holloway
Working with my fellow theatre company members, Levi Holloway, Michael Shannon and Travis Knight on this original and searing post-apocalyptic gem challenged and riveted audiences for an extended run at the Chopin Theatre. The play provided deep thinks for the audience on the nature of essential survival and intimate relationships in Levi's characteristic genre bending style, providing more questions than answers; the way Red Orchid likes it.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical
Directed by Jessica Fisch
I don't sing.
I don't dance.
I am lucky to move without tripping over my two feet, so it was with abject fear and excitement that I was honored to join a cast of some serious triple threats (performers with outstanding skills in singing, dancing and acting) who brought this bio-play to life through the charm, talent and guts of Kaitlyn Davis as Carole King.
I got to jump in the shoes of the visionary and legendary producer Don Kirshner and didn't leave the stage any night without singing my one line slightly off-key but frequently accompanied by some laughs in the house. Director Jess Fisch made theater in the round anything but redundant with a dynamic ensemble of note.

Certain extraordinary assets....real actors, of the Chicago style, in the character roles.

Eric Larue
Written by Brett Neveu
Directed by Michael Shannon
One of our most beloved and poignant plays at A Red Orchid, Eric Larue, focused on the rarely told point of view of the perpetrator's family in an all too familiar story of youth gun violence in an American high school.
Writer Brett approached Actor Michael and a film was born with career defining roles for stars Judy Greer and Alexander Skarsgård.
A hit at its premiere in the Tribeca Film Festival and celebrated in screenings at The Chicago International Film Festival, look for the film to receive its full domestic release soon.
"..very promising directorial debut by Shannon...sensational performances all around."

Night's End
Written by Brett Neveu
Directed by Jennifer Reeder
The horror genre is not always my favorite to watch but man is it a blast to act. Getting a chance to step into this project whaich was shot and creatively crafted on the heels of Covid, I got to play the menacing spiritual guru and ghost hunter, Colin Albertson whose formidable transformation into a demon (four hours of makeup and prosthetics) was a delight to behold.
Available for streaming on Shudder with a trailer that will send chills.
